voice LESSONS
Welcome! If you are interested in improving your singing voice, learning new music, or increasing your confidence singing in front of others, you are in a good place.
Empowerment through song, freedom and strength of movement in one’s body are at the core of my own singing, and are traits I want to joyfully inculcate in my students, no matter the age or level of musicianship. Singing is not something to be left to the professionals! It is a basic human instinct that I believe everyone, at any age, should be encouraged to express and experience fully.
While my primary focus at Westminster was classical vocal training, I grew up singing classic rock, musical theater, folk, and jazz. One of my primary focuses is teaching vocal technique through the medium which the student most enjoys singing and helping them develop self-awareness in their musical expression, while exposing them to different genres. Students who are taught healthful and conscious vocal technique can grow and excel singing any kind of music. It is especially important to me that I inspire students to be mindful musicians and to live with a love of learning. I encourage students of all ages to seek out new music and explore new ideas, develop the discipline to do their best, and to find a place for music to live within and throughout their lives.
